Braxton is a Principal at 1919 Investment Counsel. In his role as a Business Development Officer, Braxton works with individuals, families, foundations, and endowments, delivering comprehensive investment counsel. His primary focus is developing new client relationships, working with prospective clients to understand their unique goals, and building the right client team around them. Braxton has a specialty focus on philanthropic strategies and works with individuals, families, foundations, and endowments to establish and grow charitable legacies.
Outside of the office, Braxton is Chairman of the Alabama Archives and History Foundation, Donor Advisor to the Alabama Historic Preservation Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, and a Trustee of The Comer Foundation. He is the former Chairman of the Board of the Sidewalk Film Center and Festival.
Prior to joining the firm, Braxton began his career at Accenture LLP in Atlanta, where he focused on implementing strategic solutions for a global client. He later graduated from The University of Alabama School of Law, where he was a member of the National Trial Advocacy Team and received the George Peach Taylor Award for Trial Advocacy. Following law school, he practiced as a solo attorney in Alabama, advising family offices with an extensive background in the field.
In his spare time, Braxton enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, bird hunting, and restoring a historic country home.
Braxton received a B.S. in Finance, with a minor in Economics, summa cum laude, from Birmingham-Southern College, as well as a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Alabama.
